There are five motels/lodges and one hotel in the Grand Canyon National Park south rim area. There are eight hotels/motels in Tusayan, 7 miles from the Grand Canyon South Rim, one mile outside of the National Park entrance. Pets are not allowed in guest rooms in Grand Canyon National Park. You can only board your pets at the kennel in Grand Canyon National Park. Some hotels in Tusayan allow pets.

Room rates are set by the National Park Service. There is no discount at all. Everybody has to pay the same price for lodges in the Park. Most facilities are rustic lodges or motel style rooms. El Tovar is a Hotel. All lodges are within walking distance of the South Rim.

There is a high demand for these rooms. 3 months advance reservations are recommended.

1 Hotel Name: El Tovar Hotel

El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 1998. In the past, the Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. Today, El Tovar retains its elegant charm. Located on the Canyon rim, it features a fine dining room (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), lounge and curio shop with newsstand. El Tovar offers its guests Concierge, turn-down and room services, and is a Registered National Historic Landmark.

El Tovar Hotel has 78 rooms and suites, all with cable television, telephone, full bath and air conditioning. All rooms are non-smoking. Some rooms and suites will accommodate a rollaway bed, which would be subject to availability and cannot be reserved. El Tovar has free, self-parking. Room service is available during limited hours.

89 rooms cabin/bungalow, Bright Angel Lodge, designed in 1935, has a natural, rustic character, and is a Registered National Historic Landmark. Designed by famed architect Mary E. J. Colter, it has always been a popular place to stay and the center of South Rim activity. Located just a few feet from the Canyon rim, Bright Angel Lodge is the check-in point for the world famous Grand Canyon Mule Rides.

Bright Angel Lodge has a family-style restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another option for lunch and dinner, the Arizona Room features Southwestern cuisine (please note due to the El Tovar Hotel closure, the Arizona Room will remain open for dinner all winter in 2005).

During the warm summer months, the lodge offers an old-fashioned ice cream fountain. You will find a transportation/activities desk in the lobby, as well as a gift shop, lounge, and history room. Accommodations consist of lodge rooms (TV not available, some without a private bath) and cabin rooms (all with television and private bath). All rooms are equipped with telephone and most have only one bed. Please note rooms with Canyon views cannot be guaranteed.

55 rooms, conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge, Kachina and Thunderbird are twin contemporary lodges. Located on the Canyon rim, half of the rooms at the Kachina and Thunderbird Lodges have partial canyon views. All of the rooms are ideally suited for families. Rooms have two queen beds, television, a telephone and full baths. Rooms designed for guests with physical disabilities are available. These lodges offer easy walking access to the dining facilities at either El Tovar or Bright Angel Lodge.

Guests staying at the Kachina Lodge check in at El Tovar and Thunderbird Lodge guests check in at Bright Angel Lodge. Please note rooms with Canyon views cannot be guaranteed.

5 Hotel Name: Maswik Lodge

Location: 1/4 mile from the Grand Canyon South Rim

278 rooms,Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk. All rooms at the lodge are motel-style rooms with two queen beds, a full bath, telephone, and television. Room sizes vary somewhat between the north and south sections of the lodge. North section rooms are a little more spacious than those in the south section. Roll-away beds are available on a first come first serve basis.

During the summer months Maswik Lodge also features cabins for a more rustic accommodation. These cabins are also equipped with television and telephone services. The cabins have two double beds and a shower. Rooms for guests with disabilities are available. Open year-round.

6 Hotel Name: Yavapai Lodge

Location: 1/2 mile from the Grand Canyon South Rim

358 rooms, Yavapai Lodge is Grand Canyon National Park Lodges' largest facility and is surrounded by pinyon and juniper woodlands, about 1/4 mile from the rim. With modern rooms and many services within a few steps, this is a convenient choice for families. Yavapai East rooms feature in-room air conditioning and Yavapai West rooms have vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans. The Lodge is located next to the Market Plaza, which includes a general store, bank, and U.S. Post Office. The National Park Service Visitor Center is within a short walk - approximately 1/2 mile. Yavapai Lodge features a cafeteria that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The curio shop has a wide range of gifts and a transportation / activities desk is located in the lobby. Most rooms offer two queen beds and there are a limited number of rooms with one king bed. All rooms have television, telephone, and full baths. There are also wheelchair-accessible rooms. Yavapai Lodge is normally open March through November and during winter holiday periods.

About 7 miles from the Grand Canyon South Rim. Compared with the rustic lodges inside the National Park, these are modern hotels or motels. If you have a car, it is convenient to stay in these hotels to visit the Grand Canyon. Since the National Park Admission is valid for seven days, it does not cost you more to reenter the Park.

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge is located in the center of Tusayan, just one mile south of the south entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park on Highway 64. The Grand Canyon National Park Airport is less that one mile away.

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge in Tusayan, Arizona has two separate buildings, a motor lodge and a hotel. The motor lodge is adjacent to the hotel and is our original building. It is a two story building with an outside entrance to each room. There is no elevator access in this building.

The hotel has interior corridors and offers larger rooms with elevator access to all floors.The rooms are equipped with hair dryers, coffee makers and data port phones.

THE HOTEL, completed in 1995, offers guests modern, climate-controlled rooms with cable TV, high speed wireless Internet and data port phones. Relax amid the soothing Southwestern d�cor or take a short walk to some of the best shops and restaurants in the Grand Canyon and Tusayan area!

Grand Canyon North Rim Motels / Lodges
Inside Grand Canyon National Park

Room rates are set by the National Park Service and can be changed from time to time. The Grand Canyon North Rim is located about 200 miles from the Grand Canyon South Rim. Take Highway 67 to the Lodge.

1 Hotel Name: Grand Canyon Lodge - North Rim

200 rooms motel and cabin, a National Historic Landmark, located on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Lodge has rustic motel rooms and cabins, a magnificent dining room with a view of the canyon, a sun room, snack shop, saloon and a gift shop. The area also has a campground, camper store, service station and laundromat. The lodge is open from Mid-May to Mid-October.

Motel rooms feature one queen bed, private bathroom and telephone. Western Cabins have two queen beds, full bath,separate/private entrance. Frontier Cabins have one double bed and one single bed, a 3/4 bath and telephone. No television, no air conditioning, no pets or cooking allowed in all rooms.

Direction: From Grand Canyon South Rim: Go east to Cameron 57 miles. Go north on Highway 89 to Junction 89A. Go north on Highway 89A to Jacobs Lake. Take Highway 67 to the Lodge. approx. 4 hours / 214 miles

From Zion: Take Highway 9 east to Highway 89. Take Highway 89 south to Highway 67. Take Highway 67 to the Lodge. approx. 2 hours 30 mins. / 119 miles.

3 Hotel Name: Kaibab Lodge

Location: 18 miles to Grand Canyon North Rim

Kaibab Lodge is located on highway 67, 26 miles south of Jacob Lake, just five miles from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park's north rim and 18 miles from the north rim.

The rooms are in rustic cabin-style buildings. Most come with double beds, private bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. There are no telephones or televisions in the rooms, however, pay phones and satellite television are available to our guests in the main lodge. Pets are allowed for some rooms.

Check-in: 3 pm Check-out: 10 am The lodge closes at 10 pm.

Reservations Cancellation Policy: Reservations can only be canceled at least 3 days before your arrival date and there is a $25.00 cancellation fee by Kaibab Lodge. First night room and tax will be non-refundable if canceled within 3 days of arrival.

The Kaibab Lodge opens from mid-May to November 2nd. Full services (including gas and diesel)are available at the North Rim Country Store.

Direction: Take freeway 89A to Jacob Lake, turn north at highway 67, drive 26 miles to the lodge.
